I am looking for photographs of you/friends/family in kilts or formal dress for a website I am presently updating for a long standing Portobello Kilt shop.

if you dont mind helping for the fame alone, (not getting any cash), and you dont mind your face etc. being on the net, (no names will be appended unless you want them to be), and have any photos which may be suitable. (Please make sure that if you send any photos of anyone other than yourself that you get permission).

Then please let me know and Ill do my best to make

We hired a kilt for our elder boy and the shop owner asked us if we'd mind giving him a pic he could use in advertising. I got a spare print for him but four years leater still haven't given it to him

. If I can find a copy I'll let you have it...but don't hold your breath!

I have a few photos that might of of use, mostly from oldest sons wedding but unfortunately I'm not sure how to put them on the site. The men folk of the family are all away for youngest sons stag weekend, so will get some help from Ed to do this when they get back.

PS I also have quite a few of Mr Poppy and Mr Lizzy at various places and stages in their lives

- not sure if they would be suitable though

There is one particular photo of both of them in their kilts pole dancing on the bar of the Forester pub at New Year

I've being doing my best to save him from bad influences over recent years, but remember that Mr Lizzie has been around being very very bad since at least 1974 (vide pic on Talent of the 70s thread.....!).

Actually, I don't understand this thread.

What use are pics of folks in posh gear that didn't come from TopKilts?

Wouldn't the implication be that the clothes were hired/bought from there?

Im sure that lots of Porty people use Iains shop on a regular basis. Im also sure they will all be honest enough to hide the "Othershop kilt hire logos" when they send them in.

There's actually quite a bit of posh gear for hire in the shop, (see pic of my wee brother on the opening page.

He is a dashing wee soul

Of me in formal menswear? Sadly, no.

Funnily enough though, I was just saying to a friend the other day that if I had to attend a posh wedding/do, I'd definitely need help in getting kitted up. I would have to seek out a ladies equivalent of <a href="http://www.topkilts.co.uk">Top Kilts</a>

But never mind all that.
As I browsed through the <a href="http://www.topkilts.co.uk">Top Kilts</a> site I was alarmed to read in the "All about us" section that according to a Nancy Hope of the Evening News...

" he can also offer page-boys in miniature morning coats and toppers"

Are these poor little mites kept locked in the back shop or in the basement? Maybe they're stolen to order? And then, to add to the horror, they are dressed as sailors or suited-up like tiny little men.
What an outrage!
Now, there is no way (in my opinion) that very small boys can look anything but ridiculous when dressed in such a way.

I would suggest a lower age limit of 10, unless it was for some kind of punishment of course.

Did she write that, (I should really read the content first eh!)

I looked on the net for http://www.poshfrocksforbirds.com/disco ... escashbung but the site no longer exists, (probably fell foul of the Donâ€™t put discriminatory stuff on the net unless you want your collar felt or have paid someone in the know, wink, wink, Act 1857 sec 153,(a)(1), which clearly states that frock shouldnâ€™t be used in lower case)
