Scuba Diving

Any other divers here?

I guess you'd need a drysuit and a really good reason to jump in round these parts - but I'm sure people must do it.

Never been but plan on doing a quick course while on honeymoon and doing a few dives there. Going to St Lucia so no need for the dry suit although one of my bosses at work used to go diving round here quite a lot but he said diving in the Red Sea ruined it for him and hasn't been back in around here!

I've always fancied trying out scuba diving. I even know someone who is a qualified diver and who has offered to teach me the basics. Maybe someday I'll find the time to try it out.

Thanks! I know an Edinburgh-based club and have been down to St Abbs a couple of times.

I'd love to get back in the water some time as it's been too long.

I used to do a bit of diving around these coasts in my youth. We used to meet in the British Sub Aqua club house that was at the bottom of Bath street and training in Porty baths once a week. To think I used to dive in the north Sea in a 4mm wet suit - daft or what :violent1:
Only after the last tree has been cut down, only after the last river has been poisoned, only after the last fish has been caught, only then will you find, that money cannot be eaten.

Most excellent. Sounds like those beach holidays Billy Connolly used to describe - you must have been blue.

Are you BSAC qualified? I went with the yankees.

I was on my way to 2nd class when other things in life distracted me. :love5: I still have all that equiptment from the 70's. Needless to say there is no chance the wet suit would fit me now. Certainly got a few diving stories to tell, the stupid things we did in our youth :!:  :!:
