Sad to see that this shop is closing, though the silver lining to this particular cloud is that some of you ladies may be able to pick up a bargain in the closing down sale.

The property is owned by Scotmid and although the business is trading profitably, Margaret feels that the proposed increase in rent makes it less viable.

With the recent closures of Kirkwood's and Eleanor Robertson there's not a lot left in ladieswear in Portobello. Another quality shop bites the dust and what are we likely to get as a replacement?

Perhaps we should all email Scotmid to plead with them not to let it out to another charity shop? Here is the address:

commercial.property@scotmid.com

Meanwhile, Margaret would like to thank all of her loyal customers and we would like to wish her well with whatever she chooses to do next.

No doubt to be replaced with a stinking Starbucks!
