Hi. I'm a newbie, but not new to Porty. I've got two kiddies (a toddler and a baby) and I've just been offered a place at the St James' playgroup for my 2 and a half year old boy starting Monday. I'm really pleased as I think it will be good for him and for me (especially as winter closes in and it's not so easy to keep a busy toddler stimulated), but at the same time I'm a bit sad to think that he will be away fro me for 4 mornings per week. Does anybody have kids in that particular playgroup? Words of wisdom/advice most welcome.

My two went there too - and they're now 18 and 20! I think Jane Peden still runs it so that's testament to her expertise. I thought it was a great wee playgroup for them at that age - not too big that it's daunting. Eases them into going to the 'big' nursery.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!
Thanks for the replies! I've since spoken to another person with kids who have gone there, and everybody has been positive. I'm sure it's the right thing, but after a lovely summer doing fun things with the kids, I sort of feel a bit sad that we won't be able to keep it up over the winter. Change is always a bit strange, isn't it? Many thanks for taking the time to reply.
