Rumours????
I have heard through the unofficial Porty Reporter (ie general gossip from the locals
) that the new flat sat Brunstane Road are having mega problems with mine workings? My source has revealed that one of the original bungalows beside the site has serious structural damage allegedly caused by the disturbance of the mines. Anybody else heard about this?
To drag up an old topic! I also learned that there are some structural problems along in the Brunstane Area.
By all accounts the Developers/Builders had to pour copious amounts of concrete into voids, don't know if this has rectified the problem?
This area (according to OS Maps) is riddled with old mines (coal). I believe that the Coal Authority could be liable for any structural defects, although not the case if another mineral has been historically exploited!
such as the situation at the western end of Porty.
Any Geotechnic's/Hydrologists etc. using the Porty forum?
