new SSP shop

Delighted to see that this shop, which has been lying vacant for some time, is being put to use. I suspect that it is a short term lease leading up to the European Elections, but perhaps Carla can enlighten us further. I did notice that the flyposting had been removed (hooray!) to be substituted with posters attached from the inside.

I also noticed that the most recent SSP posters elsewhere have been taped up rather than flyposted. Does this herald a change in policy? If so, can I be the first to applaud it. I don't really have a problem with the SSP (or anyone else for that matter) attaching posters to vacant shops as long as they can be easily removed at a later date.

Speaking to Robert Davidson the other day I understand that prosecutions were successfully brought against flyposters in Portobello recently. I should add that this did not involve the SSP.

(For anyone who has not seen the shop - new parents, for example)

An excellent, and suitably high quality addition to the image of Portobello - - thankfully not a permanent fixture.
Now where are those postings on the worst shopfronts in Portobello......
