On your "the Gallery" site
Where did the shops disappear to on the other side of the town hall? Its fab getting the postcards but a description if possible would be great too, thanks!

The bank bought them and demolished them to create its current luxurious premises.
The shop nearest the town hall was a newsagents. For my thirteenth birthday my mother gave me a paper round and I worked in the shop on Saturdays.

Sandra, as the gallery is read-only this thread could be used for people to comment or add information. I didn't add any info to the postcards because I don't have any but I'm sure some of the old-timers like Rathbone will be able to help out.

nothing unusual in this but - I haven't a clue what you people are talking about!! - what gallery where? and who is sandra talking to in her post?
