Capoeira for kids!

Post by bellybabe » 29 Sep 2006, 22:15

Dion is running capoeira classes for kids at the community centre, Fridays at 5.15 - open sessions for kids aged five and up. It's a brilliant thing (remember the two chaps doing cartwheels on the crane in the BBC clip? Or the demonstration at the PCATS ceilidh?) and it's great to have a class locally so please encourage your kids to come along - and at just £2 a session it's a great bargain compared to most kids' classes. It's a martial art dance and it's brilliant for fitness and flexibility and co-ordination.

Come join the Capoeira Circle and play this dance of Freedom created by African slaves in Brazil. Instruments and dance. http://www.maonochao.org

I fully agree with you, this class is really good, my daughter has this in her School on a Friday at 12.30 and attends along with most of the children, don't know who pays for it but our children don't have to pay any thing.

Perhaps the school is funding it.

Any way i say Good on them

Does that include kids of 26? If not does anyone know where they do adult sessions?? Have always fancied doing a bit of capoeira - seems to be a good combination of rhythem, martial arts and fitness.
