Household annoyances and inconveniences

Post by Dadaist » 03 Oct 2006, 11:55

...whether caused by human, animal, plant, natural or other phenomena.

I was wondering if readers had come across the household annoyance phenomena of -

- the glass jar with the oily label.

I'm confused as to whether this is caused by drips running down the side, but has anyone else noticed how glass jars which contain oily substances (curry paste, tahini etc) which are prone to having a film of oil on the top tend to end up with oily labels?

Please share your experience with this and any other household annoyances and inconveniences.

The oily label can be avoided by wiping the kneck of the jar after use.
The stuff that gets stuck in the grooves eventually runs down, but if you wipe there's no bits to run down

Thanks - I'll be sure to wipe my grooves. I was starting to wonder if oil was somehow evaporating, congealing on the inside of the cap and then making its way round the screw.
