Bought anything good off Ebay recently?

Are you a seller - if so, what do you sell?

My house just got 4 things at once.

1. Orange flavoured coffee beans (for him)

2. Boards Of Canada CD (for him)

3. Wraparound maternity cardigan (for her)

4. Double buggy (for them)

Arguably, number 4 is the most important and biggest. What's the biggest thing you have ever got from Ebay? Have you ever been scammed?

I love ebay for both buying and selling!

I recently sold a pair of boots for Â£44

I probably buy as much as I sell

which kind of defeats the purpose of making some extra cash.

Nah, not at all. You've got rid of stuff you didn't want, got stuff you fancied and had fun too.

I know someone who buys ties out of TK Max and punts them to folk in England.

Good thread.

For me the biggest in terns of quantity cama about as a result of sharing a house with big-feet sock stealers. I could never find a pair of socks and as a result used to start the day in a bad mood. I tried a few tricks like hiding them, hiding one of them,. keeping them in the car and so on. At one point I considered buying one of those little safes you get in the wardrobe when you go on holiday.

Eventually I bought 120 pairs of designer socks from a trader on EBAY for just over Â£100. I keep them in the office and change into clean ones every few weeks

. The socks were almost definitely fakes but it doesn't really matter. I'm very happy.

I sold 5 x Â£5 notes once for Â£50.

Only things I buy are old 7" singles.

My ebay account has been suspended, cos someone got into it the other day and put 55 different "Gucci" items up for sale. Which looked suspicious apparently, as my only previous sale in 4 years had been the Â£5 notes.

I can't be bothered sorting it out, which is annoying Mrs Priest as she's dying for me to get rid of that elephant's foot bin.

I bought a hard drive for my pc for around Â£80 - came no problem...

Bought a James Bond collection DVD box set for Â£45 that got shipped all the way over from China and then sat in a parcelforce warehouse in sighthill for 2 weeks... they got it there from China ok - but delivering it from sighthill to portobello seemed to be some massive problem

Picked it up myself - all good

Closest i came to getting scammed was buying what i thought was a new mobile phone "case" - however it was a "cover" ie. a bit of plastic - Â£8 down the drain.... taught me the lesson of scrutinising every part of the adds.

I think Ebay is great & will happily keep using it...

Biggest spend was Â£20 on a "genuine" Armani jacket - was just what I needed for summer and well worth Â£20. Read the guy's feedback and there were a couple of outraged "this Â£5 LV handbag is NOT genuine"

-ve feedbacks. As long as you read the ads carefully, check feedback, and don't rush in, 99% of sales are no problem.

Was gutted to miss out on a pair of Gucci (and they were genuine!) cowboy boots - went for Â£121 at the last second.

Very average, actually. Lovely aroma but the taste wasn't amazingly strong.

I'm going to pack more into the adapter and have a double shot next time.

I had a seller who didn't pay for ages and then after numerous emails to her left negative feedback (this was over at least 4 weeks) she hastily replied saying she'd been busy

and asked for the negative to be withdrawn. (why bid if you are not going to pay?) Needless to say once she'd paid I didn't leave her any "positive" feedback.

Generally I find most people great on ebay!

I love e bay. I just buy stuff though. I never got round to setting up a seller account.
I've bought a few kokeshi dolls from a girl in Japan and I've also bought some Samurai swords. One of my favorite items is a faux fur jacket I bought. I've also bought c'ds, books, dvd's a georgus JOhnny depp limited edition film cell thingy with a signed photo. The list goes on and on.........I've never been let down by any of the sellers on e bay. Mr. BM says I enjoy shopping on e bay too much

That's excellent, Mamba. I guess it's silly to be worried about most items on there but I think I'm still adapting to the environment - I'm still always pleasantly surprised when the stuff arrives!

Mr. Arachnid, our son and myself also enjoy a bit of shopping on e-bay!

We've bought quite a few things. Mr Arachnid likes to buy " border fine arts" , I have bought "castagna native american figures", son buys games etc, etc. And we've all bought all sorts of other things we think we need!!!!

We've been very lucky and not had any serious problems with the sellers and delivery is almost always within a few days of buying!
