How is your day going and have you done anything to ward off the ill-will of the date
Friday 13th
Friday 13th
So far it seems to be a normal day for me but I don't really believe in any of that superstitious nonsense

Well, i went for an interview for a placement and got it, and celebrated with a nice meal out (ok, that's not strictly true...food nowt special but company fab). So a pretty great Friday 13th for me. Am well chuffed.
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

But you obviously hexed me instead, hence the cutting my finger with the big (now) bloody carving knife and an "incident" with a chopped onion......going to spend the last 1 hr 53 mins of this day wrapped in cotton wool.Sandra wrote:I'm quite superstitious - don't walk under ladders, am happy when black cats go in front of my path. But nothing untoward has happened to me today........... yet.
Promise you won't tell anyone but I just removed that perfectly good word from the profanity filter so you can type it in now if you like.bearcub wrote:For *** read that perfectly good word meaning covered in blood.
Poor bloody bearcub.

I am totally non spooked by all this but today.....
My 8 year old had his old fashioned wordrope collapse on top of him, it was a major event. I had to do my Superman bit and lift it up while Mrs PoP pulled him free. I must confess to it being big time trauma and I could feel my heart pumping away in genuine panic.
Why do I mention it on this thread? When he eventually got to school, for Golden Time, the teacher read them the Lion the Witch and the Wardrope!!!!!!!!!!!

Justice delayed is justice denied.
Blinking heck PoP ! The poor wee thing. He'll be haunted now by nightmares of killer wardrobes
Congrats from me too BB. Did you arrive home safely?
My Friday was sort of mixed. It's my birthday soon and Homer bought me an ipod Nano. Very nice it is too. He decided to give it to me a few days early so that I could load it with some tunes and listen to it on my big day. We all gathered eagerly round the imac only to discover that my Nano needs the latest operating system for Mac in order to run. Our machine must only be a year and half old but it's obsolete. It is so frustrating. Oh well, my little nano still looks very nice

Thanks very much for the kind offers PoP and Gilo. Gilo, you're way ahead of me. We're on 10.2.8. We've decided to buy Tiger (10.4) and upgrade so that should sort things out. If we totally screw up on the installation I'll be round to take you up on your offers ....and may go quiet on the forum for a while...*gulp*
Er...well, not the paying kind. It means I get the joy of working but not the joy of a paypacket.Poppy wrote:

I was about to say many congratulations, and leap up and down, too, Bellybabe, but the not the paying kind is not so good! Still, if you enjoy the placement itself .........Bellybabe wrote:Er...well, not the paying kind. I was never superstitious about Friday 13, until I went to a country which has a much higher 'superstition-quotient' than ours, (not the States!) and my first Friday 13 there was pretty bad!!!!!!
What a shame about the wee boy and the wardrobe!

Oh dear. Hope he's OK.
My dad screwed my bookcase to the wall when I was little - get an L bracket and some screws either side.
BTW - what's a wardrope
