A man so popular they named an area of Edinburgh after him.
Happy (forthcoming - I wanted to get this in early) 5000 posts sir.
You may yet regain your crown as top poster, or we may both be leapfrogged by tom nimmo - who knows what the future holds ....

I think it's a little premature. I mean, he may not live to make 5000 and then how silly will you feel?

That's post pumping, which is frowned up on in polite internet circles.
Cmon people. Lets just celebrate the life and works of the great man as he takes the final steps to a mammoth 5000 posts.

And there was me worrying about Porty and I's battle at the top. Little did I know of the simmering pot of discontent bubbling below.

It's not the amount of posts. It's the quality.

Is it just me or does that picture of Porty on the banknote look like he's wearing a headband? Makes me think of someone about to commit hara kiri.
Oh well, even if he hasn't reached 5000 posts yet, he hasn't posted for about 12 hours, which, for him, must be some sort of record.

The race is on so here is my 27th post. I think 5000 is a much bigger number than 27 but I was hopeless with sums at school so can someone else please tell me when I get close? Is Jackson Priest any relation to Judas Priest? I need to know before I try to read his posts backwards as I don't want to invite the devil into my life by mistake. Is there some sort of protocol to follow if Porty does not post for 12 hours? Are the authorities to be informed in case he is locked in someones shed somewhere? Could it be that he has been called back to the mothership for some essential maintainance? Sorry, but I can't join the search party as I am sticking pins under my fingernails instead.
Prom cycling for all.

Congratulations Porty! Love him or hate him, you certainly can't ignore him and he is currently in the form of his life. I just read the 'red indian burial ground' post and I think even Portyman has to admit that was funny.
