Has your cat gone missing??

Post by dionne » 11 Jun 2004, 23:00

I am a distraught owner needing some evidence. I last seen my cat Pip on Saturday 5th June. He has not returned since. We have searched everywhere possible but no sign. I have heard that 7 other cats have gone missing too and I just wanted to hear if this was true or not. I am so worried. Pip is such a lovely cat and we miss him so much (especially his mum Rosie). He is black, very friendly, has a slightly shaven leg, a loud cry and is very precious to our family. If anyone has any feedback on this matter then please get in touch.

Oh, how awful for you all. We'll keep an eye out for a black cat. Our cat was stolen late one night last year - she was returned a few days later, but it was terrible when she was missing.
Does he have anything else to identify him - collar, tag etc?

Which end of Portobello are you at? We'll keep an eye open for him.
I do think there is something going on. My neighbour found one of her cats lying dead in her garden a few months ago. He didn't seem to be injured and he was only 2 so it was a bit odd. Luckily mine only goes out if we're out and never leaves the garden.

Thank you for that information. We live in the Mount Lodge area of Portobello. Do you think that cat was poisened?

Missing cat

I'm a member of the Black Cat Club too, and I hope he comes back.
Hopefully to cheer you up- one of my neighbour's cats went missing for over 6 weeks earlier this year. He turned up safe and sound and it was thought he may have got into an open vehicle and been taken away accidentally.
I will keep a lookout for Pip.

We really don't know what happened to him. He didn't have a mark on him and apart from being dead he looked fine! My Aunty's dog was poisoned last year though up at the quarry park and she died so you can't be too careful.

I saw a black cat on Windsor Place just now... white paws and a white chest. Too far away to see if he has any shaved leg though. I doubt it's Pip but thought I would post anyway... You never know!

Hi - have just spotted a wee black cat in our garden (or my big black cat did). Does Pip have a collar and tag? If so, we are in Lee Crescent.

Stray?

Re missing black cat Pip - I'm sorry I have not seen him, but there is a black and white cat I've not seen before hanging about in Pittville Steet/Bellfield Street area sine yesterday. Out in the rain today so he may be lost. A bit battered-looking with an eye missing or damaged. Anyone know about this one?

What is the Black Cat Club. I have heard some disturbing news that involves cats being kidnapped and being used as dogbate in the races. Has anyone heard about this before?

Ok - a second go at seeing if anyone knows the small black cat that has been hanging around our Lee Cres house for about 4 days now. very small (compared to our hulks), cream/opaque flea collar and green eyes that take up nearly all its little face. Have not heard it speak but tonight it was looking mournfully through our lounge window.

If anyone owns him/her please let me know so I can stop worrying about him/her.

The Black Cat Club - fact or fiction? Who is behind this shady organisation? My money's on Edgar from the Planning Department. It's another Council catastrophe.

I'm a bit confused. Are we talking about greyhound racing? Do you think this may be an urban myth?

Not sure about dog bait but 'Moggy on the Menu' certainly sounds familiar.
