pop inn question

i am new to portobello i was looking for some help from you all
i am looking for a pub to buy in portobello & noticed 124 portobello high street the pop inn but cant find out if it is for sale can any body help me ?

There was an application for a change of use to betting shop pinned to the door of the Pop Inn a wee while ago, think it was William Hill wanting to convert it.
The Figgate Whins has been lying empty for a while and theres a sign gone up on the Place, foot of Bath Street
Don't know if thats any use. I've not been out to a pub in a long long time!

Hi and welcome. I think the Pop Inn has been sold or leased. Used to be owned by Punch Taverns but they failed to get a new tenant.

Recently there was notification of an application for a bookies, William Hill? I don't know if they bought the premises or are leasing.

We could do with some decent pubs in Portobello

Good pubs in Portobello are hard to come by ! Which is probably why these pubs are closed, not to mention the franchise problems associated.

I frequent the first and last and I beleive the guys that own that are listning to offers at the moment ! It is a privately owned pub and not a lease

Thats atall order Drum.

Glassblower, Figgate, Plough, The Place I know are all owned by chains. Not sure about the Portobello Bar, think its private but it is a good going business. That leaves the Galleon, good luck.

The Central ( previously the Glassblower) has one of those "Opportunity" signs up.
I used to like the Bluebell but its been away for a while now and is a chippy instead. I agree with Sandra about the pubs round here.

Drum, being on the outskirts of Porty, ie Joppa or Seafield/Kings Road, means that the usual suspects, who stagger from pub to pub in the main high street, do not venture that far so means less hassle. The ormallie and first and last etc have a good customer base and enjoy the trouble free environment.

Always wondered about that sign near the Kings Road roundabout, pointing to Leith and saying Looking For Love

Had been said its something to do with new build flats but it just may be the AA being helpful.
