I found out that my daughters baby (due June 5th) is going to be a boy.

I would have thought that would be happy news, not sad news. Or did you not want to know whethter it was a boy or a girl until the big day?

It is good news. My daughter had to have an amnio to check that things were all ok. They are, and one of the benefits of an amnio is that she got to find out the sex of her baby, which she wanted to do. All week we have been waiting to find out whether it was a "blue or a pink", and now we know. He will be called Harry.

The grandchild bit I am only just coming to terms with. It's the other bit I can't quite grasp. As Porty said this afternoon when I saw him "and we don't mention the 'G' word, right?" RIGHT!

Thats exactly what my parents say too
and they get away with murder not like my sister and I, my nieces run rings round my parents.

So true. My mum allows my kids to do things I was never allowed to do and is a lot less strict with them (as is my ma in law).
