Was looking out to sea today, the first calm day in ages, and the balls seem to have either moved or got another row at the Joppa end.
Anyone any idea why or wherefore?
I thought yesterday that the balls had moved a bit out of line.

There was an incredibly low tide, on Sunday I think, and they were actually almost on the sand. They were certainly getting battered about as opposed to floating. I also noticed an unusually high tide on Monday, I think, way up the beach. Strange

Missed that as had a long lie. Did you investigate the 'strange objects' opposite the baths this time???
The tide was predicted to be high but I reckon the weather helped?

Been keeping an eye out for the objects but not been visible so far.
We seem to have a double line of balls starting in front of the Baths, Sure they didn't used to be like that

You're right SoupD - a single row before! Have not seen them yet because I'm not at home during daylight hours during the week, but will have a look tomorrow. Could be that the unusual tides have moved them?

Could be the tides.
It seems theres a few in a row from Bath St to about Pitville St with another 3 in a row behind and none toward Joppa, at least from where I've looked at them.
Perhaps they're going to invade!

Got home early so had a look. I think it must be the tides ... and the wind as the sand is piling up to the top of the groynes on the Joppa side of same despite the almost daily tilling by the council.
Perhaps they are cuddling up to keep warm??!!
