Adopt an orphaned thread

Post by Dadaist » 09 Feb 2007, 09:19

We've all done it - started a righteous, witty thread and got 0 replies - pushed down the page by some schmuck and his nonsense posts, and a bunch of useless "what air are you breathing just now" guff, coupled with a bunch of yadda on those threads you never read anyway. You know the drill.

Well, this week is "Adopt an orphaned POL thread week". I know it's Friday but there's still a couple of days left.

What I'd like everyone to do is go back - way back - to the start of POL and find a thread which was either righteous, witty or maybe both, but got 0 replies, and adopt it. This means you "bump" it up to the top by posting in it, but also follow its progress and nurture it until it stands on its own 2 feet, a bit like a baby rabbit.

Go out now and find that sad, lonely, postless thread from 2004 or so and give it a bit of love. Go now.

I'd kind of missed the point on the orphaned bit. Oops.

I'm finding this adopted thread business terribly confusing. Not that it takes much.

But I've finished my fifth assignment. Normal brain service should be resumed shortly. But don't hold your breath.

Five down, one to go. The really big one. :crybaby:

Going right off topic in true POL style. Does this mean you'll get round to answering PMs??? Eh??? :P
