It's Year Zero! - or at least a first post

Just like a poorly-written sequel that makes you wish the franchise had been put to bed after the first movie comes .... the Dadaist.

Rising, Phoenix-like from the ashes of the so-called Surrealist, I am reborn.

Having survived this weekends' Cultural Revolution, it is only fitting that we re-dedicate ourselves to working under the wise guidance of our new Gang Of Four.

I have survived the purges. Now I must go and ask Mrs Dadaist if she would like another cup of tea.

I don't watch Big Brother. Is Winston a contestant?

May I be the first to welcome you back. Perhaps we could share a Victory Gin in the Chestnut Tree Cafe sometime?

Welcome back whoever you are! I couldn't bear to plead with bob any longer...so you saved us from petitioning, begging letters et al - the beautiful friendship may it last for at least 24 hours - fun is restored! Carla

Taken on the location of the 1984 production of 1984. It's a housing estate now.

Cool. Reminds me of the (Docklands ?) set they filmed the end of Full Metal Jacket on - did that ever spoil the movie for me - as soon as you know they are in London pretending it's Vietnam and you realise how cold it was, it's just not possible to suspend my disbelief any more.

Funny you should say that... It's the same location -- the ruins of Beckton Gas Works, East London. Not quite Docklands though.

Aha! Thanks for that.

I'm not going to watch 1984 either - I'll keep thinking it's in Vietnam.

No special significance to this. I just thought the page needed brightening up a bit.
