Tanning studio fire

See the tanning shop in Brighton place will be emptier than usual, it seems to have caught fire.
I haven't heard any reports of injuries but the smoke has affected the flats above
Clanger 1 said there were lots of fire engines there when he came home from work about 1.30 this am and there was 1 there when i came past about half an hour ago

Traffic report said 20 folk evacuated according to a colleague who was in work about 7 am. It certainly didn't seem to be affecting the through traffic at 8 - mind you, I was on a 129 with my face stuck in the Metro gossip pages!!

Yeah, was no problem with the traffic around 8ish - there was a single fire engine and both lanes of traffic were still flowing.

EVACUATION FOLLOWING SUSPICIOUS BLAZE

Police are investigating a suspicious blaze which ripped through a tanning salon in Portobello during the early hours of this morning (Mon). Up to 14 people were led to safety from flats above the Hollywood salon in Brighton Place. An elderly woman was treated for smoke inhalation. Police and fire investigation experts are working to determine the exact cause.

Firefighters led 13 people to safety today after a suspicious fire at the Hollywood Tanning Studio in Portobello.

Around 20 firefighters were called out to tackle the blaze in Brighton Place at 1am.

Residents, including an 18-month-old baby, were rescued by firefighters, while one elderly resident was kept in her home under close supervision.

The fire gutted the former tanning studio premises.
