John Williamson strikes back!

Post by Guest » 17 Jul 2004, 17:29

I now hear that local fishmonger John Williamson, not to be upstaged by Joe Findlay, is planning his own rival album. Highlights are expected to include:

"Sitting on the Had-dock of the Bay", "We Gotta Get Trout of this Plaice" and of course "Cod Save the Queen" (Scallop?)

Any more suggestions?

What about "Please release me, let me go"

Wasn't there going to be a article on the fishmonger in the Reporter at some point?

How about "Day Kipper" and "Sweet Sole Music" of course by the late, great Arthur Codley.

We plan a feature on John Williamson for Planet Porty sometime soon, if he ever forgives us!

Salmon
Bob Marley and the Whalers
(Babylon By Bus)

Ooh, yeah! All right!
We're Salmon
I wanna jam it wid you.
We're salmon', salmon',
And I hope you like salmon', too.

Ain't no rules, ain't no vow, we can do it anyhow:
I'n'I will see you through,
'Cos everyday we pay the price with a little sacrifice,
Salmon' till the jam is through.

We're Salmon' -
To think that Salmon' was a thing of the past;
We're Salmon',
And I hope this jam is gonna last.

No bullet can stop us now, we neither beg nor we won't bow;
Neither can be bought nor sold.
We all defend the right; Jah - Jah children must unite:
Your life is worth much more than gold.

We're Salmon' (Salmon,salmon, salmon')
And we're Salmon' in the name of the Lord;
We're Salmon' (Salmon,salmon, salmon')
We're Salmon' right straight from Yah.
