What a nice day

With the car in dry dock at the moment, the memsahib and I were at a loose end this afternoon. So we went to the Blue Bean for a coffee, and then admired DG's wedding photos in the window at the photographer's studio. Then a stroll along the prom, eating a poke of chips from the Wimpy. Ended up in the Bedford enjoying a Guinness extra cold, and watching the world go by. Continued our stroll to Joppa, and discussed Wangi's sunset photographs...

Isn't Portobello wonderful.

We spent most of the day at Dalkeith Country Park, but still found time for a late afternoon stroll along the Prom. We ran into fellow moderator Marya, out flying her kite! Popped in to say hello to a friend in Pittville Street before returning via the High Street, pausing briefly of course to admire DG's wedding photo.

Out for a stroll along the prom in the afternoon sunshine, I heard the pop of a champagne cork and found that the source of the festivity was a group of pals picnicking on the beach to celebrate a birthday or two. This was also the first Porty-on-a-Sunday beach experience of one of the group who has just moved here. She was suitably happy to have her instinctive reasons for coming here confirmed. A glorious day right enough.

Managed to squeeze in a quick BBQ on the beach in the last of the sun. Good stuff.

:D Thanks, guys! Mr DG did say that her saw some people admiring the photo. He even walked past the photographers yesterday and overheard a group of tourists admiring our pic. Fame at last!

It has been a beautiful day in Porty!

Yesterday was lovely. It justified my reason moving here too. My sister and my young nephews came through from Glasgow and Granny, my sister, nephews and I got to sit in the sunshire and play games on the beach. Brilliant.
(Although marred slightly by someone telling my brother-in-law in a not very friendly way to park "properly" i.e on the pavement).
