Yippee, it's the weekend!

So what are your plans for the weekend? I'm back to work on Monday so I want to make sure I enjoy the last couple of days of freedom. Tomorrow starts with a visit to our local friendly fishmonger for a Planet Porty feature and I've got the Triathlon pencilled in for Sunday morning. How about you?

(Sorry, I know I'm 15 minutes early!)

No plans to visit fishmongers this weekend, or indeed have anything to do with anything that ends in athlon, tri or otherwise. I am going out for lunch tomorrow however with a very good friend.
Hate to gloat Bob but I only have a mere 3 weeks of holidays left so I'm still going at a leisurely pace. :brave:

.....sweating it out because on Monday we find out at my work who will stay and who will go under the "get interviewed for your own job" scheme

it's like that bit in Toy Story where the Claw decides which toys get picked

So how long do we give the rest? Do you think they are all watching "The World's Funniest Animals"?

Now that would be even sadder than what we're doing here..!

Yipee its the Weekend

Post by Lizzie » 23 Jul 2004, 20:06

Looking forward to a bit of shopping up the High Street tomorrow - I love the High Street on Saturday morning there is a different atmosphere than any other day of the week and it takes you twice as long to do your shopping by the time you blether to everyone. Then I'll potter in the garden for a while followed by a stroll along the prom later - hope its as nice a day as last Sunday!
I love living in Portobello - wouldn't go anywhere else.

Of course I could log as administrator to see who the hidden guest is. but I'll resist that temptation.

Hmm, you just can't orchestrate these things, can you? Maybe a friday night wasn't such a good idea! :-k

Just got the message and faithfully logged on ... too late! Oh well, BBQ tomorrow - and a hammock to boot!

What is this resurgence of the hammock thing about? We're getting one delivered this weekend - a gift.

Too litle notice!!!!

I don't think we got past seven. Problem is that if you give people too much notice they have forgotten by the time it comes round. We regularly have 6 or 7 people on simultaneously and we probably had 11 or more people logged in between 8 and 8:30, but unfortunately not all at the same time!

Think we will just have to leave it a few weeks and then try again. Maybe third time lucky!

Erm...I guess I wasn't paying attention - were we all supposed to log on tonight at the same time? I was around but trying to show other half that I can in fact stay away from the computer at least sometimes!

:( Ooops! Sorry I missed this. Just got the e-mail this morning. Perhaps a little more notice. I was out at a candle party where a seller of candles demonstrated the burning of multiple smelly candles with multiple smellness and I ended up having to leave early due to multiple nasty reactions. Woke up with a headache for the wrong reasons!

Anyway, I'm visiting Mary Kings Close tomorrow and planning to enjoy another Saturday in sunny Portobello. I'm so glad it's the weekend.

Bob, try this again. Perhaps on a Sunday early evening.

Happy weekend!

Still waiting for an on line chat room here. Is it being contemplated?

Not at the moment. Chat rooms are problematic for all sorts of reasons, but when you have a number of people simultaneously online on the discussion board you more or less have a chat room anyway, particularly if a session is pre-arranged. For example, we could have a regular online discussion every Sunday evening on an agreed topic. That would certainly make it easier to moderate.

Well, I went to the Next sale at 4.30 am this morning! It was great! (sad I know)

Sunday will spent having a long lie and reading the Sunday papers with a fry up and hopefully the weather will be good for a leisurely stroll along the Prom with the dog.

Hope you've got your hammock out and testing it today, Bob. I look on our hammock as a visual symbol of our smugness at having had the good fortune to move to Porty - where the sun always shines - as my friends are tired of me telling them.

How did it go, Dadaist? Similar things happening at my work right now - IT is being outsourced. Thankfully, that's not my department.
