Councilor feedback on the forum.

I've just recently joined the forum and am quite surprised at the lack of feedback on some very important issues here from our local councilors.

Is it a case that now that they have been re-elected they can ignore what the people in the community have to say or perhaps they don't bother reading what the local community are concerned about.

Or am I being too cynical............................

Both Maureen and Lawrence are very much aware of the Portobello Online website and have been, and continue to be, very supportive of what we are trying to achieve. I have advised them both recently that the discussion forum is now beginning to generate a lot of interest and I agree with you that there are ongoing discussions on the board that would benefit from some input from one or other of them.

To be fair, our local councillors do work extremely hard for the benefit of the community and I was personally delighted to note recently that they had both been re-elected with large majorities. Deservedly so. Anyone who knows Maureen and Lawrence will testify to their dedication and commitment to the area they serve. I'm quite sure that they will contribute to the important issues under discussion here as and when they are able to find the time and that they will make an important contribution to the website generally for many years to come. In the meantime, if you have a matter of urgency that you wish to discuss with your local councillor you can email them directly:
