The Porty Shopper

Post by Bob Jefferson » 25 Feb 2008, 12:12

This is a splendid local example of the new breed of semi-permanent bags which are hopefully going to stamp out plastic carrier bags.

The Porty Shopper was designed by PEDAL and paid for by the City Council. It is available from Findlay's Deli/Bakery, Wisteria Lane, Traidcraft shop, Portobello Stationers, Banana Republic, Woodwares, the Library, and Williamson's fishmonger. It costs £2, of which £1 goes to the retailer and £1 back to PEDAL.

I use these types of bags anyway - got a kitcheners one, Cath Kidson one and several which were free with women's magazines - very handy. :D

What I like about the Porty Shopper is that is a bit bigger and more capacious than many "shoppers".

I like it too. Sainsburys are looking for £5 for something inferior.

The Porty Shopper on Tour?

Post by impossiblevoices » 10 Mar 2008, 21:05

Hello!

As many of you know - I run a shop in a different area of the city. I think these bags are a great idea.

Can anyone from PEDAL offer any info on where they purchased them wholesale and costs etc...? I think they would go down really well with my customers (customised for our area, of course).

PM or email me if you have any more info.

Cheers!

IV, I've passed your message on to Peter McColl who should hopefully be in touch with you soon. Let us know how you get on.

And to our detractors, there's the benefit of a community discussion forum!

Works even faster than email. :D
