Homer brought home a postcard last night. Don't know where he picked it up. It promises that it is a 'Home to Adventurers, Explorers & Ladies of Distinction' and promises 'live music every Saturday'. Homer mentioned a friend was playing on the opening night.

Sounds good, it'll be great to have more live music in Porty. Here are the owners, and here is their other bar.

Here's hoping its a big success, we definitely need it. Should we have a small gathering, surely its beyond time?

How about the first Friday or Saturday in April? The 4th or 5th? Is that too far off? or too soon, maybe?

When is this Plough/Monkey place opening anyway?

Don't mind April, but could also do a bit sooner (with the exception of next Sat 15 and the Easter weekend)? Not that I'm eager for a drinking sesh or anything

I was planning an alcohol-free fortnight so April 4/5 is better for me.

Actually, I was planning an alcohol-free month but I do feel under some moral obligation to show support for a new local business.

Very noble of you, Bob.
I feel such sacrifice should be encouraged.
Put me down to attend

4/5 is good for me. Saturday would be best, don't think we have done a Saturday and live music sounds like a good prospect.

It's excellent, isn't it? We won't have to talk to each other or anything.

Perfect.

Okay, to narrow down on the "4/5"... How is April the 5th, which is the Saturday, for everyone?

Leave her alone. She's just being coy, y'know, playing hard to get.

What was your evening like then Porty? Tam White brings back memories of Preservation Hall and the 1980's.

The evening was good. Tam did an acoustic set, two sessions and he is very skillful with a great voice. The place was busy but not jammed, a lot of Tam followers had followed him to Porty. I met a lady from Lochend. Apart from them it was the same type of clientèle that used to frequent the plough, eclectic and diverse would be an appropriate description. One rather smartly dressed man with a pony tail came round and shook everyone's hand. We assumed it was the new owner until someone informed us that it was actually Carlo's fish and chips delivery man.

Decor has not changed much, a bit of a freshen up and some "art" pieces dotted around. The ladies bog has been upgraded but the boys was much the same. Bar staff were young, pleasant , efficient at table clearing and they had teeth, which is another improvement. :D
