I guess those that post on sites like this must be a bit geeky. Im not. I start to feel a bit queasy and apprehensive at 'freeware' type threads. I feel inadequate. Am I right?

Although I can write in assember and convert binary to hex and back in my head.

I got a watch for Christmas that tells the time in binary but I am definatly not a geek (someone bought it for me - that's my excuse)

I adore the plastic teapot from my daughter's tea set - mainly because she loves it and keeps her "treasures" in it, but also because it is very close to being a Utah teapot and brings back fond memories of the blood and sweat I expended turning a mesh of points into a (rendered, not (*cripes*) traced) 3d representation as part of a set exercise in computer graphics.

I remember the glorious Amiga rendering packages.
Great fun, tried rendering with Truspace on my trusty 386DX
it only took two weeks.....

. I used to love using my miggy. I've still got one sitting under my desk here. Sometimes bring it out for an airing to print a calendar or just for nostalgia.

I still remember the mess I made inside my A600 adding in a 3.5" HD - hack'n'slash. Repeated that on an A1200 too.

Great techie naming on the motherboard too...

The chips : Fat Agnus, Paula, Gary....and on the original A1000 the motherboards had songs by the B52 etched around them.

In particular the chip called 'Fat Agnus' had the words "something in the way she moves" etched around it!

Those were the daze!

Also the viruses that they got on the Amiga were sometimes quite arty...
I remember "something amazing has happened to you computer" in brilliant colours on my screen..... then hold down the Amiga key plus another an it went away....

Not like today's nasty viruses!

and speedball - i still remember the sound the suction cups on my joystick used to make when i ripped it off the desk trying to score in that game

I remember the suction cups, that is until I got a Gravis (I think) solid joystick with a clamp. Which then proceeded to snap my desktop in a fit of Speedball frenzy! You can now get Speedball on yer mobile fone! (Java Required)

D'you know, guys, apart from Porty's inital post, this thread is in a foreign language to me. Pretty much the only words I've understood so far have been "Paula" (and I'm anxious to know what words were etched around that but think it might be better not to know...) and "Rainbow Islands" (I was sooo addicted to that game; and then weirdly my mother got addicted to it and was so much better at it

).
