Organised by PEDAL

CAR FREE DAY PORTOBELLO

Leave the car at home and stay in Porty for the day!

21st September 2008, 1 – 3pm near the library (at the end of Rosefield Avenue)

Every year, people from around the world get together in streets and neighbourhoods to remind the world that there is an alternative to our car-dominated society. Car Free Day gives us an up-beat glimpse of how things could be in Portobello, if we lived our lives with less reliance on our CO2 spouting menaces!

This year PEDAL’s car free event is happening in conjunction with POD’s Village Fair in Rosefield Park.
Join the dressed up bike parade at 12.30 at the Prom end of Kings Road.
Head up for the music, market and more at Rosefield Avenue and then at the Village Fair in Rosefield Park.

Dressed up Bike Parade:
From The Prom end of Kings Road (12.30pm). . .
Not just for bikes – dress up your scooter, skateboard, wheelchair… Customise your wheels and show ‘em off. The parade will end at Rosefield Ave about 1pm. Under tens please bring an adult! . . .
To . . . Rosefield Avenue, near the Library (1-3pm):
Ceilidh Bands, Porty’s latest local market, and Cosybike.
Ever ridden a circular 6 seater bike? The return of the fantastic Cosybike!
