Your thoughts? TPNG

Post by wangi » 10 Jul 2009, 00:32

As ever the internet moves on... I'm looking to move to the next major version of the software used to power the forum. I've done a bit of prep work (actually started 7 months back!) -- what do you think? Plan would be to have a random header as with the current site, but there's just one there for now. The two main forums are locked to help against posts there and it's passworded to avoid being indexed by search engines. You should be able to check PMs and post in the PBay forum if you want to try it out.

I like the look of it but can i please, please have a darker colour. It helps my cataract no end. Couldn't get into PBAy as it was locked but I like the fresh look and feel.

I agree with Porty - I'm lucky that I don't yet have the family cataracts, but it does appear a bit peely wally...

For comparison how do you find the colour on the current look?

Must admit I've always thought things were a bit washed out looking at times [although it's not been a problem] and I've not always been able to tell one shade of blue in the characters from another - not the end of the world, but if there's the opportunity to sharpen things up a bit that would just super-duper!

Or is this just middle-age affecting my sight now?!

Seems ok, is the text smaller though?

The current site is about as bright as I can take it. Paler for me is like looking into sunlight. Hard to convey to perfect eyes but it is quite a challenge to read.

I like the clean lines of the new one too, and the bigger image is nice. I might be tempted to bump up the size of the main post text, if the narrower column will take it.
