Where on Earth are you?

Post by Bob Jefferson » 12 Jul 2009, 14:46

I imagine a lot of you will be holiday. Are you managing to keep in touch with what is happening back home, or are you enjoying a week or two away from talkporty?

The Jeffersons are having a staycation this summer. We had a week in rainy Shropshire and we are now in the equally rainy Lake District. Where on Earth are you?

I am still in sunny (and it has been!) Porty but in a couple of weeks Mr E and I are going to a remote cottage remotely near Thurso for a remote week away alone together. No neighbours, no telly, probably no phone signal and definitely no computer.

Are more people staying in this country this year - it seems a lot of my friends and aquaintances are.
Enough of your nonsense - get back to the Play Pen!

Holidaying at home or outwith the Eurozone it would seem. Egypt and Turkey are both popular - both a bit too hot for me. Despite the rain, I still managed to get sunburnt a couple of days ago.

Recent, current and near future:

China - Texas - Northumberland & home - Germany - home - Texas (or maybe Mexico or China) - home - Croatia ...

Really liked Northumberland... It's like an extension of East Lothian.

Just back from 2 weeks in Turkey. It was 40º C when we left.

Nothing much has changed at home it seems - cloudy, with outbreaks of rain and the bin is still on the pavement, waiting to be emptied.

The bins in Leith are full and overflowing, there's bags lying in the astreet being ripped open by gulls etc

I am going to attempt putting out the recycling again this week
It was ignored last week so different colour box this week, fingers crossed.

I noted last week savacentre had fenced off their recycling centre.

Our recycling was taken last week but the brown wheelie has been there for about 3 weeks now.

I tried to post last weekend from Applecross campsite but had forgotten my password.
No mobile phone coverage there but got free internet in the campsite cafe!
