Spladooshed

Post by Porty » 15 Aug 2004, 21:52

Someone actually came up to me and said Spladoosh, today. How thrilling and effective it was. It was our beloved administrator,it seems :D the man is always on duty.

Ooh, you lucky bugger, you've been spladooshed! It must have been your bra fetish day or whatever it is.

Yeah, it was our bra fetish day although we prefer to call it a BRA-B-Q (geddit?). Actually, I'm feeling a bit guilty about it, because it seems a bit elitist just having a party for local residents. So next year we want to invite the whole of Portobello along.

I reckon there were at least 5 forum members there, along with a few lurkers. But can you put names to the faces?

The "wee laddie" in the last picture has made an awfy mess of his T shirt!
Is that a result of the spladooshing process?

Were people a bit tired and emotional then?!

BTW commiserations Marya on it being that day already...
Having said that, to me this is the worst day - when parent no 2 is back at work but the weans aren't... Can't wait till tomorrow <grin>. In fact, can't wait till 30th, when the wee birthday boy starts nursery too - weyhey!

Hmm, I do tend to get a bit magnanimous when I'm tired and emotional, but I stand by my offer. You'll all have forgotten by then anyway.

Bellybabe - how do you do a grave, as in the thing missing from the 'e' in apres? Can you throw us in an umlaut and a circumflex while you're at it?

Hm...you never know, the new found freedom might mean I start to have a life of my own, away from home and computer! But I doubt it. More likely i'll return from running (always late) to nursery just ready for a cup of tea and a biscuit (NO!!! D**N IT, NO!!! Have to prove those Invernesian scales wrong!!! No more biscuits!!! :crybaby: ) and a quick look at the computer...

Sorry to disappoint you but I only ever had to write stuff in Spanish, and they don't have either umlaut, circumflex or grave accents. Well, not in common use, anyway.

I think everyone should be invited to the BRA BBQ. This year i could only put in a small apperance but those events are usually great fun. Infact, eight years ago i got " Tired and emotional" for the first time ever at aged ten. As the adults where amusing themselves, the brighton kids meanwhile consumed the entire bowl of punch. I was sadly removed from that occassion quite early but at least i wasn't as bad as my 12 year old neighbour who was carried home after puking every where.

oh yeah and i noticed there was no volley ball this year? that's my second favourtie thing about these BBQ'S.
there's no excuses you have the same length of time as shakespeare and van goth.

Oh dear. Don't remind me Epykat. The BraBQ this year is the responsibility of myself and my stalwart co-chair Porty. I've been fretting over the fact that we've done very little (oh OK, Bob, I admit it, absolutely nothing) to organise or publicise this year's event so far. In fact, I do believe Porty will be more likely to be in Central Park rather than Rosefield Park this year. Oh well it is meant to be a 'impromptu' and 'informal' gathering after all!!

Traditionally it has always been held on the Sunday before the kids go back to school after the summer holidays, though there is a suggestion that it be held on the Saturday instead, to allow the healing process to begin on the Sunday

Now I just have to track down that volleyball net, persuade some of our previous musical stars to entertain us for free, wire up sound equipment,
ensure the sun shines.................. :?
