I think it was indeed the Red Arrows. Nine jets flying in V formation at any rate, with different colours streaming behind. Wangi, Alex - did you get a shot? Don't tell me you missed it!

I saw them out of my kitchen window - after I had put my fingers in my ears.

Amazing.

Aha! We were panicking slightly, wondering what it was...
Thought perhaps the Balti Prince had done a really special meal tonight...
Oh sorry, that was incredibly crass...

On other nights at 9 a Nimrod goes over - it's something else to see it appear over Cockenzie as looks as if it's going to fly between the towers!! And I've seen Tornadoes too.

I love the Red Arrows. Put up with the whole airshow at East fortune last year just waiting for them. Was taken to see them every year as a child at...somewhere or other air show.

In contrast, hate fishcakes.

But there are fishcakes and there are fishcakes! Fishcakes in Skippers are good.

Can't say the word 'fishcakes' without thinking of that Bauhaus song. Anyone remember it?

Flypast the castle at the start of the tattoo every night - they fly over our flat at what seems like about 200ft, wake up the children and then they let off some big fireworks from the castle just to make them more jumpy...

Oh thanks for enlightening me, everybody. I have heard something low and noisy go over my abode every evening for the past couple of weeks, and since I've never heard it before on a regular basis, could not work out if it was a new occurrence, or because I've just moved a couple of streets and am now right under the flight path! If the Nimrod is regular, then I have just moved under its flight path!

I must admit, the thing I like about the East Fortune Airshow, is seeing the Spitfire (or Hurricane) and Lancaster come over Portobello - glorious sight. I was also lucky enough to decide to go and recycle my bottles, and turned on to the prom. JUST as Concorde made her last flight up the Firth - that really brought tears to my eyes.

Bob, you're the bugger that's toying with me, not the software! ;)

Well, let's say it's a bit of both.

I made a few changes to the way the profanity filter works. The good news is that you can now use the word "Scunthorpe", should the need arise.

Scunthorpe.
Got lost there once. What a god forsaken hell hole it was. But I'm *SO* grateful that we can now say it with impunity.

I got a great view of the Red Arrows flying overhead towards Calton Hill -- but didn't have my camera handy. Sorry.
