Bargain shopping

Post by Guest » 24 Aug 2004, 22:11

I just love a bargain, especially if it's one I can eat or drink, so here is a thread for you to post local and not-so-local shopping bargains.

Let me start with a bottle of wine, currently on sale in Scotmid. It's a Lindemans Bin 65 Chardonnay, selling at a reduced price of £4.53. Grab it quick before I buy it all. I'm not a wine buff, but I know what I like and this one is going down a treat. Cheers! :drunken:

Not a bargain exactly but Kitcheners new sandwich range is top value for money and they are pre-made up too. They have quirky names like Porty Belly Filler and The Promenade or summit? At 2.75 im comfortable that they represent the best ake away sandwich value in PHS, delicious.

Think that might be the last wine tip I give out. Froglette popped in this evening to pick up a few more bottles and there was only one left! Then, just as she got home the carrier bag broke and the bottle smashed on the door step!

Bob and Froglette, what a shame. It does indeed make grown men and women weep.

Jay, the funny thing was that when I checked the fridge later the Bin 65 was there. It was another bottle that broke. Since then I have enjoyed another 2 bottles of this wine. I lurk the alcohol aisle, ready to pounce as soon as Check-Out Chick and her friends re-stock.

If you can't find the Bin 65 I also recommend the Trinity Oaks chardonnay, also from Scotmid. You'll find it in a box near the deli counter (was £7.99 now £4.99) - if I haven't got there first! :drunken:
