What's your tipple?

Post by bellybabe » 25 Aug 2004, 21:43

What do you spray your monitor with when a bizarre post appears on your favourite local forum? What do you need to help you cope with the madness? Are you a g&t, or a milk-in-tea? White wine, or lemon-and-lime? A nice cold beer, or Tia Maria?
Or do you never spray your monitor because a) you shouldn't have drinks near your pc, or because b) we're actually just not funny?

I could have gone for quite a few of those drinks options BB but right now it's rum and coke. Everyone here and all they say is funny after enough of those. Your tabloid expose of Jay was a winner for me.
P.S. I'm going to have a few more tonight as it's my birthday tomorrow.

waits anxiously to see if anyone posts for me on the Birthday Thread

I wondered why I could hear bottles cluncking together a wee while ago but was too lazy to get up and see what Dadaist was doing

my tipple is wine - white or rose

As I can only access the forum at work, it was sadly water. I'm not allowed coffee at the work-station. I'm also not supposed to giggle hysterically at my screen either!

You didn't have an option for 'water' Bellybabe, so I voted for coffee, as it WOULD have been had I been at home, except I wouldn't be reading the forum if I was at home -

... and at weekends, or on bad days, it would have been wine!

Can I vote twice?

Bellybabe - you can't have a poll on Scottish drinking without lager as an option! (especially not when its only a tenner for 16 bottles)

Sorry, Mr M. Where I come from people talk about lager or bitter. Here i've only ever heard people talk about a beer, USA fashion, when they clearly mean lager. So i've got used to doing it myself - not being a beer or lager drinker!

What! A poll on booze on a Scottish website, and no mention of whisky?!

What - and risk wasting it by spraying it over your screen? :(

Oh, Marya, now I can't get that song out of my head but i can't remember the words, so it goes "Tonight...la la la la that's right.....lalala...big in japan ooh eastern seems so...oooh..." etc.
How maddening.

Big in japan

Winter’s city-side
Crystal bits of snowflakes all around my head and in the wind
I had no illusions
That I’d ever find a glimpse of summer’s heat-waves in your eyes

You did what you did to me, now it’s history I see
Here’s my comeback on the road again
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight, it’s easy when you’re big in japan

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

Neon on my skin
Passing silhouettes of strange illuminated mannequins
Shall I stay here at the zoo
Or shall I go and change my point of view for other ugly scenes
You did what you did to me, now it’s history I see
Things will happen while they can
I will wait here for my man tonight, it’s easy when you’re big in japan

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

Too late, too late

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

You’re big in japan, then I’ll sleep by your side all through the night
Big in japan, it’s easy to be

You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
You’re big in japan
It’s when
You’re big in japan

Well, I usually drink bourbon whiskey, so I suppose you're right there.

Porty darling, thank you.
I haven't been able to stop singing it all day. At least now it'll have words.
:D

 Really, give some people a stiff drink and, before you know it, they're singing about Japan (sidles away from table in a 'they're not with me, honest, kind of way ...) :occasion5:
