Hey, we just broke our record for the number of people simultaneously online, and we weren't even trying!
Check it out:
Most users ever online was 14 on Sat Aug 28, 2004 5:54 pm

Well, funny you should mention that because I've been thinking that maybe we should change the set up so that only registered members can view messages. It wouldn't necessarily increase the number of posters but it would certainly convert some of the lurkers into registered members. And maybe, having registered, they might just go that one stage further and post their own message.
I'm throwing this open - what do other people think of this idea?

I say let the lurkers lie.
I quite (ok, very often) have a quick check-in without signing on, especially when at work. And I'm lazy. Sometime it's just too much effort to sign in first.

I'm not so sure. I suspect that a lot of lurkers are regular visitors to the forum and are probably just as addicted as the rest of us. Just imagine, they would see the topics but not be able to read them. I think most of them would register to be able to continue reading, even if only a few of them become posters. What do we have to lose?
OK, let's have a poll on it and we will go with the majority.

Such a restriction would surely discourage potentially interested viewers if they can't see what they are registering for!!
ps moderators/administrator, I posted this message at 08.35pm not 07.35pm ???

I'm going to lock this topic to avoid confusion. Comments on the idea of restricting viewing to registered members will now all be on the same thread.
