Anyone know when I can hear some of this chap's music? Just came across a website about him, with lots of people saying he was an amazing musician, and I'd like to hear him. Maybe some people here knew him/were at school with him?
All I really need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt!

I was a couple of years younger than him and his wee brother Phil was a Year younger than me. When Johnny died it was all over the Radio in New York and the list of musicians he played with was very impressive, it included Bob Dylan. I don't know much about his music but Google should help.

I saw Phil recently, he appeared with Bonnie Raitt at the Usher Hall, she invited him as a guest.

You should be able to get downloads of some Silly Wizard material by Googling.
Like Porty, I'm not really familiar with his stuff but he was certainly a most respected musician like his brother Phil.

Porty, I'd have liked to have seen the Bonnie Raitt gig. I saw her in Glasgow many years ago and she was in fine voice. She's also an amazing guitarist.

It was very entertaining, I dont own any of her music, I went on the strength of seeing her on TV and it was really good. As for Silly Wizard? I remember going to see them at The Yellow Carvel. At that time there were a few brilliant musicians either at PHS or they had just left. Billy Cranston and Vernon Walker or Philips were two of them. Happy days indeed.

I've got fond memories of that pub. Saw a lot of music there back then.
As you say, happy days.

I'm not sure. What's it called these days?
I don't think I've been in since it was the Yellow Carvel and I don't like to think how far back that was.

Yeah, but it was much better in its previous stint as the Tron.

Yeah, but before it was a "Real Ale, Real Music" sort of place. It got gutted a few years back (put in an extra floor downstairs - where previously you could only look down into), now it's a student cheap drink sorta place.
