Bonfire and model boat

Anyone know anything about the big model boat being carried along the Prom to the bonfire on the beach at foot of Marlborough Street?

A small group carried the boat along to the bonfire, not sure what happened next as it was getting dark but suspect it was added to fire.

Is there a connection to the flags hanging across the streets around here?

It was part of the wedding celebrations for Jane Lewis and Chris Booth.
