Photo competition

Post by administrator » 20 Sep 2004, 17:32

As we have a few keen photographers on the forum, I thought it would be fun to have a competition. The theme is 'Autumn in Portobello' and you are invited to submit a set of 3 photographs on this thread.

Your photos should be no more than 425 pixels wide.

The competition is open to everyone, but obviously you need to be a registered member to post. If you are unsure how to post a photo check the 'How do I' forum for tips.

The photos will be judged by poll but we will also be inviting a couple of professional photographers to add their comments.

Closing date is 30 September and you can post your photos at any point until then. Happy snapping!

I duly submit the following three snaps. My camera is a digital one - a Kodak CX4230. I have tried to fit my pictures in with the spirit as well as the letter of the theme.

One last sandcastle and one last bloom. Two echoes of summer, but the promise of warmth to come.

Okay, here goes:

1. For most of us who aren't up the at the crack of dawn (oh err) autumn is when we have the chance to see sunrises at a fairly normal(ish) time of the morning. Needless to say it still baltic cold at 07:13 when this was taken:

2. Autumn's all about trees, and it doesn't matter where you are in Portobello you'll see a pylon! And from this aspect you can see some similarities:

3. And those leaves end up on the ground, crunch (or mush)!

Bob: You'll see COC's and Epykat's pics at some point - I guess photobucket's doing one of its normal benders!
