I'd be too humble. We put on a romm 18 by 12 ft and it has taken more than a year so far.The money Ive spent dooesn't compare but then neither does my skill compare to people like these. Its truly amazing what people can do. Did you see the one in Leith?

Yes that the one. And they chose to cut 5000 slates by hand. WTF?

Never mind all that design, construction stuff - how pink was Kevin's shirt the other night!

An amazing castle/fortress in Tuscany with views to die for and all I could focus on was his hideous shirt.

I quite liked the shirt and his fluent Italian was impressive too. However, the last couple of weeks have had too much flller and not enough construction for me.

Its losing some of its allure, as it always works out in the end. A bit like the Blue Peter Christmas Appeal. They are always about 5 soup kitchen trucks short on Dec 12th and miraculously buy 7 extra and a villa in Tuscany by Jan 6th. Why can't they just leave some people to starve or drown one year? Make it more interesting for the viewers.

Did anyone see the RIBA awards presented by Kevin of Grand Designs on Saturday? He was wearing the SAME pink shirt when visiting the Dublin shortlist entry!!!

Yeas, but at least the award went to a decent building this year.

I prefer Property Ladder -- Did anyone see the one where they took a gorgeous Art Deco house and turned it into a fairytale monstrosity..?

Not surprised it didn't sell.

Saw it too, Dakota. Jaw-droppingly awful! And the downstairs loo with all the wacky tiles? God, you would be ill if you had to go in there.

I know you don't have to be a slave to history/ architecture, but why buy a house if you don't like the period and style it represents. It wasn't as if they couldn't afford anything else.

Belated welcome to the board BTW Dakota! Are you north or South?
Er... More sort of Central (as in Park). Think Dakota Building rather than Dakota State.

Crazy! It was so claustrophobic! And they cost a fortune. Still... it was good for shouting at the telly (main reason why I watch theses shows).
