I'm unable to see Dadaist's, Epykat's and Check-out-chick's photos so I'll keep trying before I vote :( . Don't know if anyone else is having problems.

Congratulations to Marya, the winner of our 'Autumn in Portobello' photo competition. I'm afraid we don't have a prize as such, but I'm sure you are happy just to have won.

Thanks to everone for their entries. It was great fun and something we will definitely do again soon.

Unaccustomed as I am to winning anything, I would like to say thankyou to my Mum and Dad for having me, to all the friends who have stuck with me through the years as I struggled to make my big break through and to all you lovely people who voted for me. I will use my fame and fortune wisely to benefit the whole of humanity and intend to follow in the footsteps of Gerri Halliwell and Angelina Jolie, my role models, who have shown what brains and beauty can achieve. Sob! :crybaby:

From Peter Ross, a local professional photographer:
I'm sorry I didn't get round to checking out the photo competition until now. Since you already have a winner my comments are irrelevant but anyway my favourite was Wangi's Pylon & Tree which was a good use of composition and colour and an unexpected angle on the theme. Skeely's Travel Agents Window speaks for itself and connects with how so many of us feel and finally Bob's abstraction of the brazier was interesting but could do with better execution and more investigation of composition. Most of the others were what I'd expect to see when visualising the theme but almost all the photos were technically competent.

Once again I apologise for not responding sooner. Good luck to all the photographers and keep on clicking.
