Songs you were surprised

to learn who wrote them.

Watching Barry Manilow, excuse me, Barry Manilow is on TV at the moment and he just sang the Donna Summer classic Could it be Magic. I recall being a bit horrified when I learnt he had written it. Same goes for UB 40's Red Red Wine, a Neil Diamond opus.

At least Manfred Mann wrote 'Blinded by the Light'.

Private Message on way to you. Bruce Springsteen wrote Blinded by the Light and Fire by the Pointer Sisters. Don't forget Patti Smith's Because the Night either.

I was surprised that Hector Nicol wrote both the "Glory Glory to the Hibees" and "Hearts, Hearts".
