where have they all gone ,when I was young there used to be big red ones washed up and loads of shells,mainly along at Kings road .Anyone else miss the jellyfish :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

There were loads of jellyfish on the beach in the summer - I stood on one - luckily it was dead! It was horrible and squiddgy.

ECM thats almost cruel, did you not enjoy that almost jaggie nettle stinging sensation they gave you whilst paddling in that fine clean portobello water?? :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

No, I've never actually been stung by a jellyfish but I do miss poking them with sticks. There's no other reason for them to lie around on the beach surely?

Caught my 6 year old (boy of course) bombarding a jellyfish with with stones earlier this year. Didn't know what to do - protect the hapless invertebrate or re-live some early childhood fun by proxy!

I think they only beach themselves if they taste the water, lets face it with Seafield just along the coast..... your not so much swimming in the Forth..... your just "going through the motions"......
