Ah - I was told it was visible here - not that it makes much difference, as I was not up at four in the morning.
Jay, you were right:

The last eclipse of 2004 occurs on the evening of Wednesday, October 27 (in Europe, the eclipse occurs during the early morning hours of Thursday, October 28). This event is a total eclipse of the Moon which will be visible from North and South America as well as Europe, Africa and Antarctica. During such an eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.

Hmmm, it was fairly crisp & clear last night, but when I got up at 02:45 the sea was wild. rain lashing down and cloud everywhere. So, no pics (because there was no moon).

Oh well, apparently it looked good from new york, where the rain wasn't lashing down.

I'm afraid I slept right through it - but it sounds as if there was nothing to see! :sleepy2:

The moon was a bit brown when i saw it from the bus tonight.

But I was viewing it from Meadowbank looking in the direction of Craigentinny / Seafield, so it might just have been atmospheric pollution.
