Id prefer the 4th. I have a suggestion of Le Petit Folie in frederick street. Fixed price lunch or Maison Bleu in Victoria Street.

I can then go straight from there to the Nile Cafe for the West Brighton Crescent xmas night out (Our 4th Year). In fact why dont we just go to the Nile Cafe and cut out the middle man?

For the record I think £29.95 for xmas dinner in Porty is too amnitious.

Have to admit that I voted for the 11th then realised that I can't make it then.
I ought to have voted for the 4th. I'm happy to consider another venue although I think the lunchtime menu was cheaper Porty and we'll all spend at least £10 each on taxi fares if we move up town, but point taken. Think we'll need to move quickly though, as it won't be easy to get a booking at this time of year at this late stage :?

We'd both like to come. Lunchtimes would suit us better - either one is fine so I haven't voted

we booked a work Christmas meal last year at Le Petit Folie at the West End- we didn't book until December and it didn't seem to be a problem but then it was a weekday night. The food was lovely though

The food is good and the room is lovely, the Dalraida may not have the same atmosphere saturday lunchtime. Its looking like the 11th which rules me out.

I can vouch for Bellybabe being alive and well - I saw her on Friday morning and she was coherent although slightly hung over I think. But then a hall full of toddlers isn't the ideal place to be when feeling tired and emotional lol

I voted for the 11th lunch but I could do the 4th if necessary. I'd prefer somewhere local (Dalraida) but will go with the majority :D

Me too I agree, somewhere local - what about the Rockville if Dalraida is not favourable.

I would not be seen dead in the Rockville and Pal o Porty hates it more than I. (That should be enough to secure the Rockville as the venue  )

Anyway, what have suspenders got to do with the Christmas Lunch/Dinner? :?

I know a nice wee shop right on the High Street. Does good wine and nibbles and you can get absolutely blootered for very little, then go on to a really classy joint further along
What time will we be there Porty?

Oh dear, this is turning into a shambles. We can't decide when to eat, where to eat or whether we should bother eating at all and now we've gone off on one of Porty's tangents.

Maybe the best solution is to wait until after the New Year and meet up at the Dalriada on a Saturday evening for tapas and a few beers?

Thats why Poll's suck. The poll was to decide, when?, nothing else. It appears people want a saturday afternoon, 11 have said so. My view is I would rather pay £10 quid a head rather than £20 and im not going to the Rockville.

Bob, just pick the 4th or the 11th and a place.

You may get a decent lunch for £10 a head this week but come December everyone is going to be producing a Xmas menu at inflated prices. I personally don't want to go uptown and that seems to be the view of most of us.

OK, I'll make a decison. Porty, PoP and Marya have all said they can't make the 11th. Let's make it 4 December, lunch at the Dalriada. We need 14 to get the room to ourselves. It's going to cost £24:95 a head plus a few bottles of house wine before we retire to the bar. If we don't move fast this date may no longer be available, so who's up for it?
