Ster Century kids' club

Just got this and thought some of the parents on the forum might be interested:

Ster Century Cinema in Edinburgh are running a Youngsters Kids Club every weekend where they show classic kids movies for Ã‚Â£2.00 per child with an accompanying adult getting in free. For example, the movies for Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th December have a Christmas theme and are Scrooged and Jingle All The Way. on a similar theme....

the Filmhouse do a thing called For Crying Out Loud where there are screenings for carers with babies. It's always on a Monday morning and sometimes quite good films are shown

The Cameo do the same type of thing on a Thursday - it's called The Big Scream lol

Mrs Charlie went to Ster Century today for a similar baby offering.... although they may not be doing it for much longer due to lack of demand.

You toad! You're just reminding us that we used to live 2 mins walk away and now we're a bit of a hike further.

many years ago we lived over the road from the Filmhouse and we were ALWAYS late for the films. Then we moved out of town and lived over the road from the Cameo and were OFTEN late for fthe films. then we had children...

The big screen thing at the Fort also does Saturday morning stuff for kids. I had a happy Shrek2 Saturday there a little while ago.

Dada used to live at Bruntsfield and one night we were running so late for a film that we decided to drive. I squeezed the car into a miniscule space on Lothian Road then came out of the cinema to find that the car, along with all the others, had been taken to the Pound

so that was an expensive lesson learnt about driving when you should walk

In the sixties the Pooles, Synod Hall (alas no more) used to do this sort of thing for kids, but without the need to take an adult along.

I have particularly fond memories of The Beast With Five Fingers and other wonderfully unsuitable films. The horror! The horror!

Yikes, I'm old enough to remember that too (and I'm not nearly as old as you, Rathbone

). The cardboard cut-out they had to advertise the Man with X-Ray Eyes still haunts me, for some bizarre reason.
