This is really just to let Catz know that the flotilla he took a picture of wasn't the one my friend was on. THAT one was in 1974! But as my friend pointed out, there are a lot of naval manoeuvres off the Firth. Actually,
the one he was one wasn't so much a manoeuvre as a funeral procession. They were escorting elderly ships to their last berth in the scrapyard, and were not allowed to proceed at more than 4 knots, which any naval types out there will find amusing.
But, as Catz said - IF anyone took a picture in 1974 ......
