Re: PEDAL October Events
Update from PEDAL:
Apple Day re-scheduled, now Sat 30th October (not 16th)
Unfortunately, due to lack of staff and volunteer availability, PEDAL have had to re-schedule our Apple Day celebrations. So there will be no event at the Donkeyfield Orchard this coming Saturday 16th October. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
Instead, we will be combining Apple Day celebrations with a Halloween Party at the orchard on Saturday 30th October, from 2-5pm. For directions, please click here.
The event will be a celebration of wonderful Scottish apples, with a Halloween theme! So come along, bring your friends and family and any apples of your own. We will be making apple juice with our new press, so bring some clean, empty bottles to take your juice home in. Drink it fresh or chilled, freeze it or pasteurise it for keeping, or simply let it ferment and make your own scrumpy!
If you have favourite apple-based recipes bring them along for others to copy (or send them to Peter Upton peter@pedal-porty.org.uk and he’ll copy them for you) and, if you like, some cooking to share with other - sweet or savoury!
There’ll be an apple peeling competition to see who can make the longest peel, plus apple dooking and toffee apple making for children of ALL ages!
If you’re up for it, come along in fancy dress — we’ll be holding a fancy dress competition with an apply prize for the winner!
And finally, we hope to have a fire to gather around, so if you play an instrument and the mood takes you, feel free to bring it along.
Hope to see you there!
