Thanks Seanie, the Towerbank response is comprehensive and balanced. It is a pity there was such a relatively low response. It has been a feature throughout the campaign for a new school. School bag mail is not a very effective form of securing a high level response when opinion canvassing.Probably due to the erratic behaviour of the delivery people! And I imagine, in these PC times, that quite a few parents view it as a breach of privacy.

The Community Council response isn't that bad either, hardly a slam dunk, but not bad. I am curious why the abuse of the "Cat Flap" system came up? I've not heard of those types of flaps being abused, is it a common problem?

A brief pre-planning report went to the Developement Sub-Committee this week regarding the school. It described the design as having a 25m length pool but we'll have to wait and see.

This reminds me of what happened at Dalkeith school campus - previously the old school (Dalkeith High) had a 25m pool and the in new building the size was reduced to 22m and it meant that they couldn't hold competitions there any longer. Things may have changed re; rules as this was some time ago - but something to watch out for.

Yep. For PSC and the Water Polo club a 25m pool is very desirable.

As per; Sean talks lots of sense, delivered in an even handed and thought provoking way. Such a pity the make up artists were on a day off. :D

excellent.
I especially like the comments about how the school will play a part in community life.
Any change of posting the facebook link here - I'm sure it would encourage a lot of people to "like" or even comment on the page.

admin: The submission of the planning application is a good point to lock off this thread and start a new one focussed on the planning application; see: New Portobello High School - planning application.
