You'll be safe enough then.
The race starts at 9.00. I doubt if any elite runner could make it to you and the 6 mile mark by 9.15 even if they were on the back of the lead police motorbike
:D

(Be warned though that when the bulk of the 14,000+ come through it is nigh on impossible to cross - there are just no gaps.)

And for anyone who is interested.....

Adults' Sailing Course - RYA Level 1

We have had a number of enquiries as to when / if we will be running Adult Sailing Cousres.

The answer is Mid September - if there is sufficient demand!

Adults Level 1 courses take 2 days and cost £199 per head for Founder Members. Non members pay £225.

This is a more in-depth course than the RYA Stage 1 course for children.

There are 8 places available per weekend course.

If you are interested please reply - we won't have a date until we have made a booking which we won't do until we have sufficient demand, so please if you think you would like a place were we to run a course, please let me know.

Many thanks

Kind regards

Latest news from the sailing club - they're getting a RIB for a rescue boat and also buying in their own sailing dinghies for hire out.

(I was on a RIB in the Thames on Saturday - much fun had)

Kayaking Courses 2 adult places remaining

Post by Jonathan Bendit » 22 Jul 2010, 21:25

This wekend Portobello Sailing & Kayaking Club is holding the last of this seasons kayaking courses; 1 Star, 2 day course for adults 16 +. This is a first rate course as anyone who has been on it will tell you and at a knock-out price; £75 for club members £110 for non-members.

(To book click http://sailporty.org.uk/wp-content/uplo ... -dates.pdf . The document contains details of all courses and a booking form. This course is identical apart from the dates to course number 8 so on the booking form on page 3 where it asks for the course number, just write 9, then fill out the rest and either scan and email it to agrant@sailporty.org.uk or print and fax it to 0131 657 3153 or deliver it by hand to The Beach House. You will need to provide payment with your application and we will need a cheque made out to Portobello Sailing & Kayaking Club for the appropriate sum delivered to The Beach House on Portobello promenade or by post to PS & KC, C/O The Beach House, 57 Bath Street, EH15 1HE). Please confirm by email either way. If you want to pay electronically let us know.
