Hovercraft / ferry service from Fife to Portobello?

Still annoyed that Portobello missed out on the hovercraft and it now looks like a ferry might be going from Granton to Fife instead.

Will the NIMBY's not be happy until Portobello is row upon row of empty/charity shops and all the people have moved away?

I have graduated from a grrrr to a humph at the thought of our lovely Libdem and Lab councillors speaking and voting respectively against the hovercraft. How narrow sighted. Portobello needs rebranded as embracing opportunities that come our way not stifling them.
