'ESTABLISHING NEIGHBOURHOOD PARTNERSHIPS IN EDINBURGH - PROGRESS REPORT' AND INFORMAL LOCAL MEETING

I've attached the progress report prepared by Mark Turley for information. Unfortunately it missed the last East LDC Meeting but further comments are requested by 5 January 2007. So could you please load the information onto the Portobello website?

In addition the East LDC has arranged a very informal local 'Discussion Meeting' for people from the future 'Craigmillar and Portobello Neighbourhood Partnership' area on:

Tuesday 5 December 2006, in the Royal High Primary School, Northfield Broadway, from 7pm to 9pm.

The purpose is to provide information about how the proposals are progressing and to encourage people to start thinking about/talking to each other about how they might link into the new partnership arrangements.

Therefore, if you could also add details of the meeting it would be much appreciated. But, if you have any questions please ring me. Thank you

Kind Regards

Dear Councillors and East Contacts,

Due to an oversight, a copy of the recent report to Council on 'Establishing Neighbourhood Partnership's, which includes the Interim Constitution and Protocol arrangements for the Neighbourhood Partnerships was not included with the East LDC Agenda and covering letter as expected.

Therefore, I have been asked to send the link to the report via CPOL, and a copy of the Extract of Minute to everyone on my mailing lists. The report will be discussed at the East LDC meeting on Tuesday evening. I apologise for any inconvenience this matter will cause you.

Link - http://cpol.edinburgh.gov.uk/getdoc_ext.asp?DocId=95668

If you have contact with members of your community who normally attend the LDC meetings, will you please advise them about where they can access the report. Hard copies of the papers will be available at the meeting.

In the meantime, if I can be of any further assistance please contact me.

Yours sincerely

The Portobello and Craigmillar Neighbourhood Partnership has produced a draft Local Community Plan:
There's still a bit of work to be done but I'm hopeful that the final document should be finalised in the next few weeks. But I thought that perhaps you could add it to the Porty web for info and also let folk know that they can e-mail comments etc via pc.np@edinburgh.gov.uk.

It's also being uploaded onto the Neighbourhood Partnership website for info - www.edinburghnp.org.uk

This document is the front end of the Plan. There are also Action Plans being developed linked to the identified priorities. These Action Plans will be the main work-streams for the groups that will make up the partnership sub-structure which is being set-up shortly.

Finally, we are discussing the Draft Plan at the Neighbourhood Partnership meeting on Wednesday 1 October 2008, at 7pm in Richmond Church Hall, Nidrrie Mains Road.

Please get in touch if you have any questions etc. Thanks

Kind Regards

I wonder if Porty Online could get listed on the links to local websites section. The only listing is the Craigmillar Community Council website.

I never suggested Talk Porty. I suggested Porty Online, or Portobello Online if you want to be precise. I provided her with a link to the homepage of Porty Online so I dont think she will suffer from any confusion.
